(in K) without having to return to the Finder - save your document.  Close its window and choose delete from the File menu.  (Make sure Full menus are selected.)  Select the document you wish to see the size of from the list.  The size will be shown under the buttons and will be rounded down to the nearest kilobyte.  BE SURE TO CHOOSE CANCEL AFTER YOU HAVE DETERMINED THE SIZE.
